SecureScribe is a Sacramento, California-based clinical AI company founded by Anson Washeck. The technology began as Veridian, an on-device clinical documentation project developed through Sacramento State’s startup and innovation ecosystem. Veridian is the predecessor and former project identity of SecureScribe.
Before becoming SecureScribe, the project was known as Veridian. In Spring 2026, Anson Washeck’s Veridian project won the overall $1,000 prize at Sacramento State’s Hornet Hacks competition from the Healthcare category. The technology subsequently evolved into SecureScribe. In Sacramento State’s 2026 University-Wide Innovation Competition, SecureScribe earned third place and a $2,000 prize.

Cameron Law serves as an advisor to SecureScribe. Independently, he is the Executive Director of the Carlsen Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Sacramento State.
